To improve
- Be more descriptive of the location (e.g. the street is urban/quiet).
- Don’t write from the directors’ voice.
- Write visually what we see (e.g. say: a small terrorist house, working class, what they are wearing).
- Give the characters names.
- Give ages of the characters.
- Physicalize what he is doing (e.g. looking down at feet, not just ‘downcast expression’).
- Perhaps introduce other characters.
- Do more with editing, parallel and crosscutting:
- Parallel – cut between two scenes consistently, suggesting there is a relationship between these people.
- Crosscut- crosscut between two scenes to raise tension and increase suspense.
- Make people look how they behave.
- Tell us more about mise-en-scene – costume, costume elements of characters, say what they are doing, get their representation.
- Describe the places, make it economically challenged.
- Add in titles! (name of film, director, camera, etc.)
