Storyboard Evaluation

To improve
  • Be more descriptive of the location (e.g. the street is urban/quiet).
  • Don’t write from the directors’ voice.
  • Write visually what we see (e.g. say: a small terrorist house, working class, what they are wearing).
  • Give the characters names.
  • Give ages of the characters.
  • Physicalize what he is doing (e.g. looking down at feet, not just ‘downcast expression’).
  • Perhaps introduce other characters.
  • Do more with editing, parallel and crosscutting:
    • Parallel – cut between two scenes consistently, suggesting there is a relationship between these people.
    • Crosscut- crosscut between two scenes to raise tension and increase suspense.
  • Make people look how they behave.
  • Tell us more about mise-en-scene – costume, costume elements of characters, say what they are doing, get their representation.
  • Describe the   places, make it economically challenged.
  • Add in titles! (name of film, director, camera, etc.)
